This is an opportunity to play a key role in the continued development of a leading, privately-held transport company, while enjoying the significant lifestyle benefits of South East Queensland.
Our client, Nolan’s Transport, has an enviable reputation for safe and reliable freight solutions and, as a result, enjoys significant, long-term customer and industry partnerships. The company maintains an extensive, modern fleet and a network of interstate depots via which it delivers a range of dry and refrigerated produce and perishables.
Consistent with the company’s management succession plans, the opportunity now exists for an experienced leader to join the team and work closely with the long-term General Manager through a period of transition. Upon successful completion of this transition, it is envisaged that you will assume the role of General Manager, taking responsibility for the management of the organisation and its brand experience, as you position the business for continued development and growth.
Working closely with, and reporting to, the Board of (Executive) Directors, in the GM role you will manage and develop the team to deliver to the company’s strategic objectives. This will involve working with the Board to define strategy, followed by operational planning and implementation, change leadership, financial oversight and the development of performance and growth of the business through a customer-centric culture of continuous improvement.
While this is a senior role, you will be ‘hands on’ with the management of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including major customers, strategic suppliers, advisors, financiers and industry bodies.
You will be a natural leader and relationship manager whose highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills are matched by your commercial acumen, operational understanding and your pragmatic, ‘people first’ approach. While performance-focused, you will be systems-oriented and committed to long-term sustainability.
Senior management experience within a commercial context (ideally within the transport industry) and the willingness to reside in the Lockyer Valley (or nearby) are essential. Relevant qualifications may be an advantage.
