Attractive Remuneration & Conditions

Global Industry Leader & Lifestyle Location

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global industry leader and play a key role in the continued development of its world-leading technology, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits that only South East Queensland can offer.

Established for thirty-eight years and admitted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame our Toowoomba-based client, Russell Mineral Equipment (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service and mill relining and consulting services. Via a network of wholly-owned international subsidiaries, the organisation supports customers in more than 65 countries.

Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for an experienced Electrical Engineer to take responsibility for the electrical layout and design of high-quality mining-related equipment. This will involve you in all facets of engineering required to progress specific engineering projects from concept through to completion of drawings.

In this role you will report to the Asset Support - Electrical Team Leader, and work with an experienced group of Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering staff to: engineer robust electrical solutions; create detailed schematics and assembly drawings; design electrical switchgear and controls as required for mobile machines; contribute to the design safety architectures that implement safety functions required for hazard risk reduction; and more.

Previous hands-on experience (preferably 3+ years) in a quality electrical engineering environment (ideally in a manufacturing context), utilising AutoCAD (or similar) for electrical schematics, and experience interpreting electrical schematic functionality at both low-voltage Motor Control and Control Logic level is required. Experience in the interpretation of Engineering Standards and familiarity or design experience with risk assessment process and functional safety will be a distinct advantage.

A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (i.e. Australian or verified by Engineers Australia as being equivalent) is required. Certification, or progress towards certification, at CPEng/RPEQ level will be well regarded.

Applicants must currently reside, and be permitted to work permanently, in Australia and while all relevant applications are appreciated, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Situated on the edge of the picturesque Great Dividing Range, less than 1.5 hours west of Brisbane and only two hours from both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts (and with direct flights daily to Sydney and Melbourne), the 'garden city' of Toowoomba is one of South East Queensland’s best kept secrets.
