Established for thirty-five years and admitted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame in 2009 our Toowoomba-based client, Russell Mineral Equipment Pty Ltd (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an original equipment manufacturer, RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service, mill relining and consulting services. Via a network of wholly-owned international subsidiaries, the organisation supports customers in more than 50 countries.

 

Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for a Mechanical Engineer to support capital equipment sales through the selection, layout and design of high-quality mining-related equipment.

 

Reporting to the Applications Engineering Team Leader, in this role you take responsibility for ensuring that all aspects of proposal drawings, vendor data drawings and technical documents are efficiently completed to a high standard and within defined time periods. This will involve basic engineering design and component selection for each project. A senior appointee will also be responsible for training and mentoring of junior Engineers and/or Draftspersons as directed by the Team Leader.

 

Experience in a quality design engineering environment and demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling (preferably SolidWorks) application is required. Basic knowledge of hydraulic principles and design, and concentrator plant or mining technology (ideally grinding mill relining related) experience would be a distinct advantage.

 

A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required and current, or significant progress towards, CPEng/RPEQ accreditation will be well regarded.
