Rewarding Career Opportunity in a Lifestyle Location

TWould you enjoy the opportunity to undertake challenging and rewarding work for a portfolio of successful local, national and international clients with the opportunity to build the practice beyond the existing portfolio and markets, while enjoying the significant lifestyle benefits of one of South East Queensland's true lifestyle locations?

Are you: the type of person who is motivated by playing a key role in further developing a practice that adds real value to its clients’ operations; someone with a pragmatic approach who is driven by seeing the results of their efforts; someone who enjoys working directly with new and existing clients? How about working in a flexible and relaxed but professional environment that values quality service, integrity, results and a sustainable approach? Would you like to be respected, valued, supported, developed, rewarded and included? Are you interested in progressing your career and prospectively interested in partnership?

Yes? Then how about this for a proposition?

As an equal opportunity employer, our client is a progressive and highly successful consulting engineering practice that specialises in civil, structural, hydraulic and infrastructure engineering and project planning.
As a trusted partner for its clients, the firm’s focus is on delivering advice collaboratively across specialty practice and industry areas, and not in silos. In this role you will be a key member of a growing team of highly accomplished Engineers, Design Technicians and Project Co-ordinators delivering innovative but practical advice to clients. With an enviable reputation and a well-established portfolio of quality clients, and with continued development planned for the future, an opportunity now exists for you to join this high performing team.

Based in Toowoomba and reporting to a Director, in this role you will: work extensively with clients; manage design projects and delivery; undertake hands-on structural design; conduct on-site inspections; provide assessment and engineering advice; manage contracts; lead and develop Engineers and Design Technicians; manage new and existing client relationships to grow the business; and perform associated monitoring, evaluation, reporting and improvement.

You are an astute Engineer who has: significant experience (preferably 10+ years) in a structural engineering environment (ideally in a consulting engineering context); strong knowledge of Australian Standards; proficiency with contemporary civil design software (preferably SPACE GASS, RAPT, Structural Toolkit and/or RAM Concept); and demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously. You are degree qualified in Civil Engineering and currently hold CPEng/RPEQ registration. It will be well regarded if you are able to demonstrate a client-centric approach to service delivery, experience in mentoring Engineers to improve technical proficiency, and sound commercial acumen.

You are client savvy, a strong communicator, have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, are a team player and would relish the opportunity to develop yourself and your career to a point limited only by you. The level at which you commence with the team would depend on the seniority of your experience, and accelerated career development is a distinct possibility for the right candidate.

A professional relationship between yourself and our client could prove to be the best career decision you’ve ever made and one of the best business decisions the firm has ever made.
