Chief Executive Officer

Rewarding Leadership Role + Attractive Remuneration

Make a difference to the lives of rural/regional business owners

Enjoy a regional Southern Queensland lifestyle

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your demonstrated experience and expertise to leading a well-established organisation through the next phase of its development, while it continues to make a tangible difference to the lives of small business owners and primary producers across regional Southern Queensland.

As a not-for-profit organisation established for 15 years our client, Rural Financial Counselling Service - Southern Queensland, provides free and independent financial counselling that empowers clients to engage in strategic business and financial decision making to improve the financial performance and status of their business.

Reporting to the Board of (Non-Executive) Directors, in this rewarding role you will work with the Board to define strategy and subsequently ensure that the organisation’s people, systems, processes and culture meet the strategic and program needs of the organisation and its funders.

You will be a natural leader and relationship manager whose sharp intellect is governed by your emotional intelligence and pragmatic, ‘people first’ approach. You will be passionate about rural and regional communities and motivated by delivering tangible value to those communities. While performance focused, you will be governance-oriented and committed to excellence and long-term sustainability.

While your general management experience may not have been gained within a finance-related field or within a program management context, it would be a distinct advantage. You will, however, be able to demonstrate your strong commercial acumen and financial literacy, exceptional management and leadership ability, well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, understanding of rural and remote communities, and experience with delivering to government grant funded agreements, ideally within an NFP environment.

This is a full-time contract role to be based at a negotiable rural or regional location within the RFCS-SQ service area. Travel is a requirement of this role.

Regional Southern Queensland affords its residents a relaxed, family-friendly lifestyle, affordable housing, world-class health, education, recreation and cultural facilities and a tangible sense of community.
