Primary Engineering role for a niche Technology Solution

Attractive Remuneration & Conditions

Global Industry Leader & Lifestyle Location

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global industry leader and play a key role in the continued development of its world-leading technology, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits that only South East Queensland can offer.

Established for thirty-six years and admitted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame in 2009 our Toowoomba-based client, Russell Mineral Equipment Pty Ltd (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an original equipment manufacturer, RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service, mill relining and consulting services. Via a network of wholly-owned international subsidiaries, the organisation supports customers in more than 65 countries.

The opportunity now exists for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to engage with the business unit manager as the primary engineering resource to establish and grow a newly created business entity to target a specific segment within the broader mill relining systems market.

Reporting to the Global Manager - RME Small Mills Solutions , and working with other members of the RME Team, in this role you will take responsibility for:

  • all facets of the layout, design and analysis of high-quality mining-related equipment, from concept through to completion of drawings and/or reports;

  • improving and value-engineering the current solutions suite

  • designing and developing new technology-based products, services and processes.

In doing so, you may be required to coordinate other internal and external resources as required.

Significant experience (ideally 5+ years) in a quality design engineering (ideally manufacturing) environment, demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling application (preferably SolidWorks) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and knowledge of material sciences is required. Experience within a customer-centric, commercially focused innovation context and a basic knowledge of hydraulic principles and design would be a distinct advantage.

A degree qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering is required and current (or progress towards) CPEng/RPEQ accreditation will be well regarded.

Applicants must currently reside, and be permitted to work permanently, in Australia and while all relevant applications are appreciated, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Our client is an equal opportunity employer and relocation assistance within Australia will be considered for the successful candidate.
