Regional Applications Engineer - China

World-Leading Mineral Processing Plant Technology

Attractive Remuneration & Conditions

Global Industry Leader & Employer of Choice

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global industry leader and play a key role in the continued development of its world-leading technology.

Established for thirty-six years our client, Russell Mineral Equipment (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an original equipment manufacturer, RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service, mill relining and consulting services. Via a network of wholly-owned international subsidiaries, the organisation supports customers in more than 65 countries.

Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite and RME’s presence in the Chinese and Mongolian markets, the opportunity now exists for an experienced Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer to join its successful team. Based in Toowoomba, this role will provide technical support to assist in the development of sales of RME equipment in the aforementioned markets. An essential requirement for success in this role is the ability to identify and refine RME’s customers’ technical requirements, with the support of the Applications Engineering Team, while working in close collaboration with a Business Development Manager (BDM).

In this role you will proactively identify customer requirements and obtain the necessary information required for RME to develop equipment designs. In doing so, you will support a BDM in meetings with RME customers and key external stakeholders and develop and maintain close working relationship with RME affiliates on an ongoing basis.

Significant mechanical engineering experience (ideally in a mining project engineering environment), experience in supporting technical sales (ideally within an OEM environment), demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling application (preferably SolidWorks) and proficiency in both Mandarin and English is required. Experience working on large projects with EPCMs, knowledge of concentrator plant operations (ideally including experience with grinding mill maintenance programs) and Mongol proficiency would be a distinct advantage.

A degree qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, the ability to reside and work permanently in Australia, an unrestricted Passport and willingness/ability to travel internationally (including to remote mine sites) as required are essential.

Applications must be submitted in English and while all relevant applications are appreciated, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
