Achieving manufacturing excellence through the management and improvement of the systems and processes necessary to maintain the plant in optimum condition to safely meet/exceed plant Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets within the defined budget, is what this role is about. This will call as much on your leadership, engagement, communication skills and business acumen as it does on your technical knowledge, problem solving, planning and project management skills.

 

Our client, Queensland Nitrates Ltd (QNP), is jointly owned by DNAP (Incitec Pivot Pty Ltd) and CSBP (Wesfarmers) and is located at Moura in central Queensland. The plant was commissioned in 2000 and consists of an integrated ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate plant supplying 25% of Queensland mining sector explosives demand.

 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and in collaboration with other key stakeholders across the organisation, in this role you will apply your leadership, operational management capacity, reliability engineering proficiency, best practice knowledge and hands-on approach to leading and developing the Reliability Team and function across the key result areas of: safety, environment, people, business management, and manufacturing performance. This position is a member of the Senior Leadership team which is proudly 40% female.

 

Your ability to effectively lead and develop a multi-disciplinary technical cohort in the pursuit of continuous improvement and innovation, will underpin your success in this challenging and rewarding role.

 

Demonstrated performance within a related role and a thorough understanding of the associated HSE, Engineering and Regulatory requirements is required. Significant experience in the chemical manufacturing (or a related) industry and tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are preferred. Electrical Engineering qualifications and experience with implementing Lean or Total Productive Maintenance methodologies will be highly regarded.
