Design World-Leading Technology

Attractive Remuneration & Conditions + Lifestyle Location

Join a Global Industry Leading OEM in the METS Sector

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global industry leader and play a key role in the continued development of its world-leading technology, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits that only South East Queensland can offer.

Established for thirty-five years and admitted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame in 2009 our Toowoomba-based client, Russell Mineral Equipment (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service and mill relining and consulting services. Via a network of wholly-owned international subsidiaries, the organisation supports customers in more than 60 countries.

Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for a number of experienced Mechanical Engineers to be involved in all facets of the layout, design and analysis of high-quality mining-related equipment, from concept through to completion of drawings and/or reports, monitoring assembly and being involved with testing.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, in this role you will take responsibility for the detailed design aspects of each design project within a defined time period. In doing so, you may be required to assist in the supervision, training and mentoring of junior Engineers/Draftspersons or other personnel as required and may, in conjunction with the relevant manager/s, also be responsible for coordinating Engineering resources in terms of short-range planning.

Significant experience (preferably 5+ years) in a quality design engineering environment (ideally manufacturing related), experience in detailed Finite Element Analysis (4+ years), demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling application (preferably SolidWorks), and demonstrated ability to manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously is required. Demonstrated application of a customer-centric approach to service delivery, experience within a multidisciplinary team environment and in an innovation context, and sound knowledge of hydraulic principles and design would be a distinct advantage.

A degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering and current (or eligibility for) CPEng/RPEQ certification is required. Post-graduate qualifications will be well regarded.

Applicants must currently reside, and be permitted to work permanently, in Australia and while all relevant applications are appreciated, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Our client is an equal opportunity employer and relocation assistance within Australia will be offered to the successful candidates.
