Integral to the ongoing development of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership and oversight of mechanical engineering services supplied by the Asset Support Engineering Team.
Reporting to the Global Asset Support Engineering Manager, in this role you will perform as a technical expert to: supervise, train and mentor members of the Asset Support Engineering Team; ensure that detailed designs are completed to the required standards and within project timelines; ensure project outcomes are delivered profitably and deliver value for the Customer; ensure the quality of engineering documentation; drive continuous improvement; and associated administration and reporting.
Significant experience (preferably 8+ years) in a quality design engineering environment (ideally within manufacturing or a related industry), experience in detailed Finite Element Analysis (5+ years), demonstrated proficiency with a 3D modelling application (preferably SolidWorks), and strong stakeholder management, communications, problem solving and engineering risk management skills (ideally demonstrated within a design engineering context) are required. Experience with mentoring engineers to improve technical proficiency, and a sound knowledge of hydraulic principles and design, would be a distinct advantage.
A Bachelor’s degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering (recognised in Australia) and current (or eligibility for) CPEng/RPEQ certification is required. Post-graduate qualifications will be well regarded.
