This is an exciting opportunity to work with a global industry leader and play a key role in delivering high level technical support for its world-leading technology.

 

Established for thirty-seven years our client, Russell Mineral Equipment (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service and mill relining and consulting services. Via a network of wholly-owned international subsidiaries, the organisation supports customers in more than 65 countries.

 

Integral to the ongoing support of the organisation's technology suite, the opportunity now exists for an experienced Operations Manager to lead and manage after-sales service and support for hard-rock mining customers throughout the South American region.

 

Reporting to the Regional General Manager - South America (based in Santiago) and the Group Manager - Asset Support (based in Australia), in this role you will: plan, implement, supervise and administer technical services personnel and processes; direct, plan, organise and control all technical services activities to ensure efficiency and effectiveness; ensure appropriate development of technical services related people and processes; collaborate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders; formulate and implement continuous improvement strategies in consultation with other stakeholders as required; develop and manage departmental budgets; and related monitoring, evaluation, review and reporting.

 

Significant (5+ years) experience in the management and development of technical personnel and services, preferably within a maintenance context in the mining industry, demonstrated leadership ability, and proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and oral) and with MS Office are required. Experience within a concentrator plant environment and with hydraulic equipment would be a distinct advantage.

 

A relevant degree qualification (e.g. in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Management or International Business), B Class Drivers License and an unrestricted Passport (or ability to attain), ability to comply with health requirements to work in mining operations at geographical height, and willingness/ ability to travel as required are essential.
